Armed Robbery of Republic Bank Branch in Philadelphia

FBI Philadelphia January 17, 2014

The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the armed robbery on January 17, 2014, of the Republic Bank branch located at 1818 Market Street in Center City.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., the subject entered the bank, brandished a knife at a teller, and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank on foot.

The subject is described as a black male in his 50s, approximately 6’0” tall, with a stocky build; he wore a tan jacket, black knit cap, and eyeglasses.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
