Seeking the Public’s Assistance to Locate a Violent Federal Fugitive

FBI Philadelphia October 27, 2009

The Philadelphia Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to locate Kebrum Teklu, 22 years of age, of Philadelphia. Teklu was named in an indictment returned by a Federal Grand Jury in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on October 22, 2009, charging him with violations of the Hobbs Act. Teklu is charged in connection with the armed robberies of three businesses in the Philadelphia area; the October 14, 2008, armed robbery of the McDonalds Restaurant located at 5146 Lancaster Avenue in Radnor, the October 18, 2008, armed robbery of the Dunkin Donuts located at 891 Lancaster Avenue in Devon, and the October 19, 2008 armed robbery of the Delancy Street Bagels at 50 East Wynnewood Road in Wynnewood.

Teklu is described as a black male, 6’2” tall, 150 pounds, with tattoos on both arms.

Photographs of Teklu, and of the tattoos on his arms, are below. Teklu is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to Teklu’s apprehension, and tipsters may remain anonymous.
