Convicted Felon Charged with Illegal Transport of Firearm

PHILADELPHIA, PA—United States Attorney Laurie Magid and Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham today announced the filing of a two-count indictment1 charging Stephen Lashley, a/k/a “Doe,” with illegal transportation of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The indictment charges that Lashley, a convicted felon, illegally transported and possessed two firearms during the period November 2006, through June 2007.
This investigation and prosecution was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a joint initiative by the United States Attorney’s Office, each of the nine District Attorney’s Offices in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute dangerous firearms offenders in federal court, where the defendants are likely to receive a substantial sentence upon conviction.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 15 years imprisonment. The case was investigated by ATF Special Agent Adam Cameron and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Arlene Fisk.
