Seeking Information in Robbery of the Beneficial Bank

FBI Philadelphia April 29, 2009

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subjects responsible for the armed takeover robbery of the Beneficial Bank branch located at 9910 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia earlier today.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. today, as the branch manager and a teller were arriving to unlock the door and enter the branch, one of the two subjects forced his way into the branch at gunpoint. The second subject entered the branch, and the door was re-locked. The subjects then bound the two bank employees, and after gaining access to the bank’s vault, fled the bank with a substantial amount of money. The two subjects were inside the branch for approximately twenty minutes. Neither of the bank employees were physically injured.

The subjects are both described as black males, 5’10” to 5’11” tall, slender builds, wearing blue jeans, dark hooded sweatshirts, black masks over the lower parts of their faces, and gloves.

Two photographs are shown here. These subjects are considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at (215) 418-4000, or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of this individual. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
