MUSKOGEE, OK—The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that PIERRE CHARVEZ SHIPP, age 20, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 24 months’ imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release for possession of stolen firearms, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(j).

The charge arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The defendant was indicted in February, 2012 and pled guilty on March 16, 2012.

The indictment alleged that on or about December 10, 2011, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant knowingly possessed and concealed stolen firearms which had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce, while knowing and having reasonable cause to believe the firearms were stolen.

The Honorable James H. Payne, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided over today’s hearing. The defendant will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his non-parolable sentence.

First Assistant United States Attorney Doug Horn represented the United States.
