Robbery of IBC Bank Branch in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY—James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the robbery of IBC Bank, 5701 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

At approximately 4:35 p.m. this afternoon, an unknown black male entered the bank and showed the teller a note demanding money. The note stated. “This is a robbery. I have a gun. Put $50s and $100s in a bag. No dye or location devices. I will know. Do it now.” A weapon was not seen by anyone inside the bank. The teller complied with the robber’s demand, gave him an undetermined amount of money, and he exited the bank. The robber was last seen on foot traveling north on May Avenue. No one was injured in today’s robbery.

The robber was described as a black male, 5’7” in height, and wearing a green T-shirt with a long-sleeve white shirt underneath, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes. Investigators believe this is the same person that attempted to rob Chase Bank at 3724 N. May Avenue earlier today.

The attempted robbery and the actual robbery are being investigated by the FBI and the Oklahoma City Police Department.
