Arrest of Choctaw Bank Robber

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, and William Carter, Chief, Choctaw Police Department, announced the arrest of Charles Steven Parkhurst, 33, of Choctaw, related to the May 28 robbery of Arvest Bank, 14900 SE 29th, Choctaw, Oklahoma.
On May 28, 2009, at 8:11 a.m., an unidentified white male wearing a surgical mask entered the Choctaw Branch of Arvest Bank, approached a teller, and provided a demand note. He pulled out a small semi automatic pistol, gathered the money in an accordion style folder and exited the bank on foot in a southeastern direction from the bank.
Based on a tip from a viewer, Charles Steven Parkhurst was identified as the person of interest in the robbery. Parkhurst was arrested by Choctaw Police Department and the FBI on June 4. He was arrested on a State Armed Robbery charges related to the robbery. Parkhurst faces Federal Bank Robbery Charges.
The investigation is being conducted by the FBI and Choctaw Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office, Western District of Oklahoma.
