Robbery of Bank of the West, Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the robbery of Bank of the West, 12000 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. this morning, a single black female entered the bank through the front entrance and approached the teller at the counter. The robber was speaking on a cellular telephone, silver in color, as she approached the teller. Once at the counter, the robber took a note out of her pocket, unfolded the note and showed it to the teller. The note informed the teller that the robber had a gun and demanded money. The teller provided the robber with the money, after which time the robber exited the bank through the same front entrance. The employees in the bank could not determine whether the robber left the parking lot on foot, or by car.

The robber is described as a black female, in her late 30’s to early 40’s, about six feet tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds with dark eyes. The robber was dressed in a black fleece sweatshirt, charcoal grey sweatpants, black running shoes with white trim and a black skull cap with grey stripes.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI and Oklahoma City Police Department.

The same individual is believed to have been responsible for the March 4, 2009, robbery of the BancFirst located at 11001 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; the March 10, 2009, robbery of the Chase Bank located at 12324 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and the March 12, 2009, robbery of the First Fidelity Bank located at 2825 N.W. 164th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Banker’s Association is offering up to $2,000.00 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of anyone robbing a member bank.
