St. Joseph Man Indicted for Bank Robbery

U.S. Attorney’s Office May 07, 2010
  • Western District of Missouri (816) 426-3122

KANSAS CITY, MO—Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that a St. Joseph, Missouri man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for robbing the First Bank of Missouri in St. Joseph.

Anthony M. Roberts, 34, of St. Joseph, was charged in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday, May 5, 2010.

The federal indictment alleges that Roberts stole $500 from First Bank of Missouri, 602 Edmund, St. Joseph, on April 7, 2010.

Phillips cautioned that the charge contained in this indictment is simply an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney D. Michael Green. It was investigated by the St. Joseph, Missouri Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
