Myrtle Beach Man Indicted for Bank Robbery

COLUMBIA, SC—Acting United States Attorney Kevin F. McDonald announced today that a federal grand jury sitting in Florence, South Carolina, returned an indictment against CHESTER WAYNE WODECKI, age 55, of Myrtle Beach, for the January 19, 2010, unarmed bank robbery of First Citizens Bank, located at 4040 River Oaks Drive in Myrtle Beach. 

The maximum penalty the defendant could receive is 20 years' imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the Myrtle Beach Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney A. Bradley Parham of the Florence Office.

Mr. McDonald stated that the charges in this indictment are merely accusations and that the defendant charged is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
