Springfield Man Sentenced for Selling Cocaine

BOSTON—A Springfield man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Springfield today for cocaine possession and distribution.
Bryan Murph, 24, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Michael A. Ponsor to 14 months in prison and three years of supervised release. In April 2013, Murph pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine base. On two occasions in February 2012, the defendant sold crack cocaine to a cooperating witness.

Lisi, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division; Mark Mastroianni, Hampden County District Attorney; Colonel Timothy P. Alben, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police; Commissioner William Fitchet of the Springfield Police Department; and Sheriff Michael J. Ashe, Jr., of Hampden County, made the announcement today. The case was prosecuted by Alex J. Grant of Ortiz’s Springfield Branch Office Unit.
