FOX 25’s Bob Ward Receives FBI’s Community Leadership Award

BOSTON, MA—In a special ceremony today, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Warren T. Bamford presented Bob Ward, WFXT FOX-25, with the Boston Division’s 2009 Director’s Community Leadership Award.

Since 1990, the FBI has publicly recognized the achievements of individuals or organizations within the area of drug and violence education and prevention by presenting them with the Director’s Community Leadership Award.

As a reporter for FOX 25 news, Bob Ward has worked closely with the FBI on many of the Boston Division’s unsolved cases through his work on “New England Unsolved” and “Mass Most Wanted.” For more than 10 years, Mr. Ward’s work on “New England’s Unsolved,” has featured dozens of FBI unsolved cases including coverage of James “Whitey” Bulger’s disappearance, the Gardner Museum Art theft case, the U-30 Bandit serial bank robber, and the search for Philip and Sarah Gehring. Since 2005, his work on “Mass Most Wanted” has aired 120 FBI cases. Five of these cases were picked up nationally by the FOX News Channel and or “America’s Most Wanted.” Each story resulted in tips which led to a resolution of the case shortly after the story was broadcast.

Additionally, Mr. Ward is a 2006 graduate of the FBI’s Citizens Academy and has worked tirelessly promoting a solid relationship between the FBI and the media community. His efforts have contributed enormously to the FBI’s mission in Boston.
