A Rio Rancho man has been arrested in connection with this morning's robbery of First Community Bank, 1000 Commercial Drive, in Rio Rancho.

Adam Matthew Thomas Blanton, 36, is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The robbery occurred at about 9:10 a.m.

Rio Rancho Police say they arrested the suspect after he changed clothes and walked through a nearby Wal-Mart.

FBI and police are investigating whether the suspect could be responsible for other bank robberies.

Witnesses say a man displayed a weapon while robbing the bank. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Nobody was injured.

He had his face covered and wore a light blue hooded sweatshirt and black sweat pants with a white stripe on the side.
