The Criminal Justice Information Services Division honors the Harrison County Prevention Partnership (HCPP) for coordinating a community-wide approach to address alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse issues in their community.

The HCPP educates members of the community in all aspects of substance abuse, from prevention and intervention to treatment and recovery. They promote community health and wellness for Harrison County through town hall meetings, free training for teachers and youth groups, and drug presentations to schools. The HCPP has also brought national and state presenters to Harrison County to promote health and well being, and they have sponsored several prescription drug “take back” days.

The HCPP created the Harrison County National Youth Leadership Initiative Coalition, known as the Dream TEAM (Teens Encouraging Advocacy & Motivation). The Dream TEAM includes young people from Harrison County high schools who are drug-free and willing to share that message and act as local role models.
