Sixth Anniversary of Disappearance of Retired FBI Agent
Robert Levinson Went Missing on March 9, 2007

This weekend marks the six-year anniversary of the disappearance of Robert Levinson. On March 8, 2007, Mr. Levinson traveled to Kish Island, Iran, as a private investigator. He has not been publicly seen or heard from since he went missing the following day on March 9, 2007.

Mr. Levinson, who will turn 65 on March 10, is a retired FBI agent who gave 28 years of service to the U.S. government.

The FBI is responsible for investigating crimes committed against U.S. citizens abroad and has been conducting an investigation to locate Mr. Levinson since 2007. In March 2012, the FBI announced a reward of up to $1 million for information leading directly to the safe location, recovery, and return of Mr. Levinson.

“On this sixth anniversary of his disappearance, the FBI remains committed to bringing Bob home safely to his family,” said Deputy Director Sean Joyce. “One year ago, we offered a $1 million reward for information leading to his safe return. That reward still remains unclaimed, and I again encourage anyone with information about Bob’s disappearance to contact us.”
