Washington Field Office Remembers
Eleven Years Later

On the morning of September 11, 2001, our world changed drastically. Members of the Washington Field Office responded to the attack on the Pentagon within minutes and have worked the days, weeks, and years since to protect our country from further attacks.

Today, we remember the 2,977 victims who lost their lives at the Pentagon, the World Trade Center, and a field in Pennsylvania. We honor the memories of two of our own, Special Agent Leonard Hatton and retired Special Agent in Charge John O’Neill.

Eleven years ago, on September 14, 2001, after the fires stopped burning, firefighters and soldiers unfurled the flag down the facade of the Pentagon. This moment in time has come to symbolize not only the resilience and strength of the first responders, but of all Americans.
