On Tuesday, August 15, 1978, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office was notified of the recovery of a human skull, in a remote area in the Township of Knapp, Jackson County, Wisconsin. The above photos are a scientific reconstruction approximating the victim's appearance in 1978. The victim's hairstyle, the presence or absence of a beard, mustache, eyeglasses, eye color, height, and weight are unknown. One silver-colored Medi-Stud brand earring was located near the body. The earring is believed to have been used by ear-piercing salons.
