Scars and Marks The victim had a scar on her left arm, and a scar on her left hand. She had a tattoo of "T.H.C." on her right ankle, and a tattoo of "REJ" or "RET" on her left ankle.


The victim had surgery on her left forearm, and tubal ligation (tubes tied). She is believed to have smoked heavily and bit her fingernails.


At approximately 0730 hours on January 24, 1985, an unidentified white female was found lying adjacent to the side of Highway 78 in DeSoto County, Mississippi. The victim is described as being between 20 and 35 years old, 5'2" and 5'4" tall, 110 pounds, with red or strawberry blond hair. She had a petite frame and was wearing a short-sleeved pullover top with Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. She was not wearing panties, socks, shoes, jewelry or a bra, and those items were not found in the area. Examination revealed that she may have been sexually assaulted, and the cause of death was established as asphyxiation by ligature strangulation. Manner of death was ruled a homicide.
