Train Derailment Mystery

Twenty-five years after the derailment of Amtrak's Sunset Limited passenger train in Arizona killed the conductor and injured dozens of passengers, investigators are still trying to find answers—and justice for the victims.

Reward:

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $250,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the derailment of The Sunset Limited. Additional reward money may be available.

Details:

On October 9, 1995, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Amtrak passenger train The Sunset Limited derailed at a remote desert location near Hyder, Arizona, approximately 60 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona. As a result of the derailment, one Amtrak employee was killed and more than 100 passengers were injured.
