An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation was assaulted and his vehicle was stolen on the night of April 29, 2021, near the entrance gate of Weeminuche Construction Authority, the gravel pit operated by the Ute Mountain Ute. The assault resulted in numerous injuries to the victim’s face and head that required stitches and caused a concussion and brain bleed. His cell phone and wallet were in the truck, and his work tools were in the truck bed at the time of the assault and robbery.

The stolen vehicle is described as a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado 2WD crew cab short bed with Arizona tag CAF1572. The VIN is 1GCGSAE30F1176700 and the truck has a cracked windshield, black marks near the driver’s side front fender, and an “Aztec Strong” sticker in the rear window.
