Victims Of Online Child Pornography Trading Being Sought

Law enforcement authorities are seeking to identify additional victims of a child predator who posed as a teenager while in his 20s, and used the Internet to trade child pornography in a scheme known as sextortion, a form of sexual blackmail.

From approximately 2007 through January 2010, the online predator, later identified as Florida resident Lucas Michael Chansler, solicited photographs from victims worldwide, particularly concentrated in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Some of the photos were nude and some were sexually graphic. When the victims started refusing to send photos, Chansler began to extort them by threatening to post their images on the Internet, and sending the photos to their friends on a social network service. When Chansler's threats were ignored, he posted the victims' photos, and recontacted them demanding more images while posing as another young teenage male.

On November 10, 2014, Chansler was sentenced to 105 years in federal prison following his guilty plea for production of child pornography. Many of his victims have been identified, however most of them remain unknown. Some of his victims' images, which he posted on the Internet, continue to be traded amongst pedophiles today. Unless the victims, their parents and other loved ones are identified and made aware of this predator and sextortion, they may continue to be victims of this crime. Hence, the need for this call to action from anyone who had contact or knows someone who had contact with this predator.
