Heather Inks is wanted in Texas for allegedly abducting her 11-year-old daughter Penelope Carmel Inks. On October 27, 2014, Penelope Inks' father was granted sole custody during a hearing concerning the parent/child relationship of Penelope. Heather Inks did not appear in court and sole custody of Penelope was granted to the father. The father has not seen Heather Inks or his daughter since the court hearing.

On June 16, 2014, a state arrest warrant was issued for Heather Inks by the state of Texas, Galveston County, after she was charged with interference with child custody. Additionally, on January 14, 2015, Inks was also charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, and a federal warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas.
