  • Middle District of Florida (813) 274-6000

TAMPA, FL—United States Attorney A. Brian Albritton announced that U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich today sentenced Jeffrey Mueller (age 34, of Largo) to nine years in federal prison for receipt of images depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Mueller had pleaded guilty on July 23, 2009.

According to court documents, an undercover agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation discovered that an online computer user was making available for sharing on the world wide web numerous images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Further investigation revealed that those images originated from a computer registered to Mueller. Federal agents executed a search warrant at Mueller's residence on October 10, 2007, and on his computer they discovered numerous videos and images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The case was investigated by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jay L. Hoffer of the Tampa Division.
