FBI Special Agent in Charge William Woods is announcing a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the capture of a fugitive in a kidnapping conspiracy. Three defendants have been federally indicted in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, with conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to distribute marijuana, and two other gun charges. Ortega Mitchell, 26, is the only fugitive.

Ortega Mitchell, AKA “Munk Milano,” allegedly conspired with the other two defendants to kidnap and hold a California man for ransom in late September 2015. According to the indictment, Ortega Mitchell purchased airline tickets and convinced the victim to travel from San Diego, California to St. Louis, Missouri to conduct a drug deal. After the victim arrived in St. Louis, he was taken to two different houses over several days. The victim was threatened, robbed, and held for ransom. The FBI believes one of the houses, unoccupied at the time, is located in the 600 block of Jefferson Street in Venice, Illinois. Eventually the victim was released near Columbia and Hampton in St. Louis without a ransom payment.

Mitchell’s last known address is in Venice, Illinois. He has associates in St. Louis and relatives in Edwardsville and East St. Louis, Illinois. He was last seen driving a blue 2007 Audi Q7 SUV, similar to the one pictured above. Mitchell is considered armed and dangerous.
