FBI Honors Local Whistleblower

What: FBI St. Louis will present the Director’s Community Leadership Award to Dr. Steven Bander for his courage and integrity as a whistleblower and for his subsequent dedication to promoting ethical business practices in medical care and research.

The ceremony will be held at Saint Louis University in front of 150-200 medical students enrolled in The Bander Center for Medical Business Ethics.

Also later in the month, the FBI will fly Dr. Bander to FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. where Director Robert S. Mueller, III will personally present the special award at a national ceremony on March 25. Every year, each of the 56 FBI field offices nominates one recipient.

When: March 2 (tomorrow) at 9:00 a.m.

Where: The Learning Resources Center at Saint Louis University Medical Center, 3544 Caroline Mall (name of pedestrian walkway just east of Grand). Parking is available at the Smith parking lot, which is immediately east of the building. Take Grand to Park Avenue. Turn east on Park to Theresa Avenue. Drive north on Theresa to the surface lot.
