FBI and STLMPD are Searching for Bank Robber

FBI St. Louis August 06, 2009
  • Rebecca Wu (314) 589-2671

At 12:14 p.m. today, a man robbed the Commerce Bank at 4401 Natural Bridge in St. Louis, Missouri.

He approached a teller to ask for change for $5. Then he spoke briefly with another employee about a business loan and then left. Moments later he returned and approached the same teller and asked for more change. This time when he placed the bills on the counter, he also passed a note with the words, “Give me money or I will shoot.” The robber never displayed a weapon but indicated he was carrying it on his side. The robber left through the front door after the teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money.

A witness eating lunch outside saw the robber run across the street behind Imo’s Pizza and drove eastbound on Sacramento in a late model Blue Pontiac Grand Prix.

The robber is described as a skinny black male, around 6’1” – 6’2” tall. He was wearing a baseball cap with a large dollar sign symbol ($) in the center and smaller symbols all over. He was wearing a white t-shirt with dark color calf-length pants with draw strings at the bottom.

If you have any information, call St. Louis Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS or the FBI in St. Louis at 314-231-4324.

This is the 41st bank robbery so far this year.
