Alton Drug Dealer Sentenced to Thirty Years in Federal Prison

A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on June 4, 2009, ANTHONY S. WOMACK, a/k/a “T-Money” age 35, of Alton, Illinois, was sentenced in United States District Court in East St. Louis, Illinois. WOMACK was sentenced to a term of 360 months in prison, ordered to pay a $1000 fine, and placed on supervised release for a period of 8 years after his release from prison.

WOMACK was convicted after a jury trial on November 19, 2008 of one count of Distribution of over Five Grams of Crack Cocaine. The offense occurred on December 13, 2007 in Alton, Illinois.

The investigation was conducted by the Alton, Illinois Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Donald S. Boyce.
