FBI and San Diego Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify the Mole Bandit

The Mole Bandit is believed to be responsible for three bank robberies and an attempted robbery in the San Diego area. The unknown male suspect has targeted two banks, robbing or attempting to rob, each location two times; once each in August and September.

On Tuesday, September 9, 2014, the suspect attempted to rob the U.S. Bank branch located inside the Von’s Grocery Store at 620 Dennery Road in San Diego, California. The suspect also robbed this branch on Friday, August 8, 2014.

On Tuesday, September 2, 2014, the Mole Bandit robbed the U.S. Bank branch located inside the Von’s Grocery Store at 1745 Eastlake Parkway in Chula Vista, California. He previously robbed this same U.S. Bank location on Friday, August 22, 2014.

During these robberies, the Mole Bandit approached the victim teller and displayed a demand note asking for money. He wore the same type of clothing in all three robberies. He wore a zippered maroon hoodie with an orange lining with the hood pulled up over a California Republic baseball hat. He also wore gold-rimmed dark aviator-style sunglasses.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the Mole Bandit.
