FBI and Carlsbad Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify Chase Bank Robber

The FBI and Carlsbad Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the Chase Bank branch located at 7176 Avenida Encinas in Carlsbad, California, on Saturday, September 6, 2014.

On Saturday, September 6, 2014, at approximately 3:07 p.m., an unknown male robbed the Chase Bank branch located at 7176 Avenida Encinas in Carlsbad, California.

At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and approached the victim teller. The robber handed the teller a piece of paper that turned out be a demand note for cash. The demand note indicated the robber was armed with a weapon, but a weapon was not displayed or observed. The teller complied with the robber’s demand and provided a sum of money. After receiving the money, the robber exited the bank. No weapon was observed and no injuries reported.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Sex: Male
Race: White
Age: Late teens to early 20s
Height: Approximately 5’9” to 6’0” tall
Hair: Dark
Build: Slender to medium
Clothing: White sweatshirt with the letter “P” on the front left portion of the sweatshirt, aviator-style sunglasses, and dark walking shorts.
