San Diego Police Officers Arrest Comerica Bank Robber

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are announcing the arrest of Dale E. Jenkins, age 78, of San Diego, California, as a result of the investigation into the robbery of the Comerica Bank branch located at 3361 Rosecrans Street in San Diego, California, on Monday, May 13, 2013.

On Monday, May 13, 2013, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Comerica Bank branch located at 3361 was robbed by an unknown male. At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank, approached a teller, and made a verbal demand for money. After receiving a sum of money, the robber walked out the bank towing a rolling suitcase.

The robber was described as an elderly white male, wearing a dark suit, white shirt, neck tie, glasses, and a dark fedora style hat. San Diego Police officers responding to the robbery located Jenkins a short distance from the bank and subsequently took him into custody after additional investigation.

It is anticipated that Jenkins will be booked into the Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) and will have his initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge on or about Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
