Two San Diego Men Sentenced to 10 Years Each in Sex Trafficking and Racketeering Cases

United States Attorney Laura E. Duffy announced the sentencing of two defendants in two separate cases today in federal court in San Diego related to sex trafficking of children. In the first case, Malcolm Jamal Allen was sentenced today by United States District Court Judge Michael M. Anello to serve 120 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release following his release from prison. Allen entered a guilty plea on August 26, 2010 to sex trafficking of children and by force, fraud, and coercion, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1591.

This case stems from an investigation by the Oceanside Police Department, Escondido Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Human Trafficking Division, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and assisted by the United States Marshals Service, Carlsbad Police Department, North County Gang Task Force, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department - Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Team, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and San Diego County Jurisdictions United For Drug and Gang Enforcement (JUDGE) Task Force.

In the second case, Devon Leontae Sutton was also sentenced today by Judge Anello to serve 120 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release following his release from prison. Sutton pled guilty on September 29, 2011, to using a corrupt enterprise to conduct a pattern of racketeering activity, namely, prostitution of minors and adults, use of facilities of interstate commerce to promote prostitution, drug trafficking and other gang-related crimes, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1962(d).

The charged racketeering activity stems from an extensive, 18 month-long multi-agency gang investigation entitled, “Operation Vice Grip” in Oceanside, California and surrounding North County areas. In addition to Sutton, Lindsey Clemmons, Adam Cassanova Anderson, Regta Inocencio Villareal, Michael David Washington, Leo Allen Sutton and Deonte Marquis Lenin have each entered guilty pleas and are pending sentencing. The remaining defendants are pending trial which is currently set for May 9, 2012.
