FBI and San Diego Police Seek Public's Assistance to Identify Unknown Male Believed Responsible for Robbing Same Bank Twice Within a Week

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify an unknown male believed responsible for robbing the same bank twice within a week.

On Thursday, February 24, 2011, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1220 Cleveland Avenue, San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male. At the time of the robbery, the robber waited in line until called to the teller’s station. Upon arriving at the teller’s station, the robber placed a napkin on the counter with words written on the napkin demanding cash from the teller. The robber threatened that he was armed with a weapon. Upon receiving a sum of money, the robber walked out of the bank.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at approximately 12:20 p.m., the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1220 Cleveland Avenue, San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male using a demand note. During this robbery the robber displayed the butt of a handgun. Investigators believe the man who robbed the bank on Thursday, February 24, 2011, is the same man who robbed the bank on Tuesday, March 01, 2011.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Sex: Male
Race: White
Age: Mid 20s
Height:  Approximately 6’2” tall
Weight: Approximately 150 - 160 lbs.
Build: Thin to medium build
Clothing: Dark knit cap, sunglasses, blue shirt, green jacket and black bag with strap.  In second robbery, suspect wore dark knit cap, brown t-shirt with a zig zag vertical stripe going down left shoulder, sunglasses and blue knee length shorts.
