Seeking Public’s Assistance to Identify the Individual Responsible for Robbing Wachovia Bank Branch
The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing a Wachovia Bank this week.
On Monday, January 11, 2010, at approximately 1:07 p.m., a lone male entered the Wachovia Bank located at 1055 Torrey Pines Road, San Diego, CA. The robber entered the bank wearing two band-aids on his right cheek claiming he had just visited his dermatologist. He pointed a small, black revolver at two tellers and robbed both of them. He was seen departing the bank parking lot in a newer model black Honda Pilot with a rear temporary paper plate. Additionally, as the robber drove off, a witness observed red smoke in his car due to the successful functioning of a bank dye pack.
Witnesses describe the robber as follows:
- Sex: Male
- Race: Caucasian (pale reddish complexion)
- Age: Late 50s – Early 60s
- Height: Approximately 6’0”
- Weight: Approximatley 180-200 pounds
- Clothing: Beige “fisherman’s cap” with neck flaps and a big front brim, dark pullover long-sleeved shirt, khaki pants, dark loafer/moccasin shoes
