U.S. Attorney’s Office December 09, 2010
  • Western District of Texas (210) 384-7100

United States Attorney John E. Murphy announced that in San Antonio this morning, United States District Orlando Garcia sentenced 38-year-old Burton Joseph DeLaGarza of Schertz, Texas, to 324 months in federal prison followed by 25 years of supervised release for production of child pornography.

On September 2, 2010, DeLaGarza pleaded guilty to the charge. By pleading guilty, DeLaGarza admitted that on multiple occasions between February 2006 and September 2007, he produced videos of a minor female engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

On October 15, 2009, agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested DeLaGarza after the child pornography was discovered on his home computer. He has since remained in federal custody.

This Project Safe Childhood case was investigated by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation together with the Schertz Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Tracy Thompson prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
