Safe Streets Task Force Arrests Two, Recovers Drugs and Gun

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force, with the assistance of Salt Lake City Police Department SWAT, served a search warrant late last night that resulted in the arrest of two people and the recovery of a stolen handgun and illegal drugs. Officers assigned to the task force seized a range of drugs including marijuana, heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine. The search warrant was executed at 860 West Hoyt Place in Salt Lake City.

Man Tat Le and Shanae Wells were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail. Man Tat Le was booked for possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon by a restricted person, and child endangerment. Shanae Wells was booked for possession of methamphetamine and heroin.

The Safe Streets Task Force is a comprehensive gang and violent crimes investigative collaboration between multiple federal, state, and local agencies. It is sponsored by the FBI and the Valley Police Alliance (VPA). Participating agencies include the West Jordan City Police Department, the Sandy City Police Department, the Utah Department of Public Safety, the Utah Department of Corrections, the West Valley City Police Department, the Salt Lake City Police Department, the South Jordan City Police Department, the Draper City Police Department, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the FBI.
