Jason Allen Sands Found Guilty in U.S. District Court

The United States Attorney’s Office announced that on November 16, 2010, in Missoula, after a two-day federal district court trial before U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy, JASON ALLEN SANDS, a 33-year-old resident of St. Ignatius, was found guilty of attempted coercion and enticement. Sentencing is set for February 25, 2011. He is currently detained.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Cyndee L. Peterson prosecuted the case for the United States.
SANDS faces possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 10 years up to life in prison.
The investigation was conducted by a cooperative effort between the Missoula Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
