Douglas Floyd Main Sentenced in U.S. District Court

U.S. Attorney’s Office August 02, 2010
  • District of Montana (406) 657-6101

The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on August 2, 2010, before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, DOUGLAS FLOYD MAIN, a 23-year-old resident of Fort Belknap, appeared for sentencing. MAIN was sentenced to a term of:

Prison: 37 months
Special Assessment: $100
Supervised Release: three years

MAIN was sentenced after having been found guilty during trial of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Assistant U.S. Attorney Vince Carroll prosecuted the case for the United States.

Because there is no parole in the federal system, the "truth in sentencing" guidelines mandate that MAIN will likely serve all of the time imposed by the court. In the federal system, MAIN does have the opportunity to earn a sentence reduction for "good behavior." However, this reduction will not exceed 15% of the overall sentence.

The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Belknap Law Enforcement.
