Statement Regarding Disturbance on Aircraft Bound for Salt Lake City

On Sunday, December 27, 2009, a special agent with the Salt Lake City FBI Field Office responded to the Salt Lake International Airport. There was a report of a disturbance on board a flight from Seattle to Salt Lake City. After the flight landed, the special agent interviewed the passenger who was accused of the disruption. Due to media inquires about this incident, the FBI wants the public to know there does not appear to be any connection to terrorism. There were no reports of any injuries to passengers or crew members. The individual is not in federal custody. The case will be reviewed by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah to determine if any charges will be filed. At this time, the investigation is ongoing and therefore the FBI can not make any further comment.
