Garden City Trucker Sentenced for Transporting Minor for Unlawful Sexual Purposes

Albert Dean Dady, 42, of Garden City, Idaho, was sentenced today in Boise by Chief United States District Judge B. Lynn Winmill to 168 months in federal prison for transporting a minor across state lines with intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. Dady pled guilty to the offense in May 2009.

The prosecution arose after Garden City Police and the FBI conducted an investigation showing that Dady, who was a long-haul trucker driving commercial loads across the United States, took an eleven-year-old female with him on a trip through more than 20 states during the summer of 2008. During that trip, the investigation showed that Dady engaged in sexual acts with the child on more than a dozen occasions in different states. Dady also admitted having engaged in sexual contact with the same child several times before the trip, according to court documents.

Chief Judge B. Lynn Winmill ordered Dady to serve 20 years of supervised release after his prison term, participate in treatment for sexual deviancy and register as a sex offender. Dady must also pay a $1,000 fine and a special assessment of $100.
