FBI Salt Lake City January 13, 2009
  • FBI Salt Lake City Press Office

Special Agent In Charge, Timothy J. Fuhrman and Missoula County Sheriff Mike Mc Meekin announced that: In response to numerous media inquiries received: The Salt Lake City field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Missoula Resident Agency in conjunction with the Montana United States Attorneys Office are actively involved in the continued investigation and eventual prosecution of an unnamed subject related to the alleged robbery of the Missoula Federal Credit Union, 3600 Brooks Street, in Missoula, Montana on January, 12, 2009.

Because of the subject’s current medical condition directly related to injuries sustained during the alleged robbery, it is unknown as to exactly when the subject will be charged federally.

Until an individual is formally charged with a specific federal crime, the FBI is prohibited from publicly identifying him or her as the subject in a federal criminal investigation. The FBI and its local and federal law enforcement partners will not comment or provide further information on this matter. This investigation is another successful combined effort of the FBI and its various law enforcement partners working together to rapidly investigate this violent crime.

The FBI is grateful to all of the local and federal law enforcement agencies who continue to actively work this investigation as it continues to develop.
