Last of Six Defendants in Narcotics Distribution Ring Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

SACRAMENTO, CA—United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced today that Travis Davis, 40, of Sacramento, was sentenced yesterday by United States District Judge Lawrence K. Karlton to 15 years in prison to be followed by a five-year term of supervised release for cocaine distribution. On February 23, 2010, Davis pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute over 50 grams of crack cocaine, one count of distribution of over 50 grams of crack cocaine, and one count of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Davis is the last of six defendants to be sentenced in connection with conspiracies to distribute methamphetamine and crack cocaine in Marysville and Sacramento during 2006 and 2007. Sentenced earlier were: Darence Lamont Jordan, 28, of Richmond, California, who was sentenced to 14 years in prison; Ronnie James Williams Jr., aka “Big,” 25, of Sacramento, who was sentenced to over 12 years in prison; Charles Demario Johnson, 31, of Marysville, who was sentenced to over nine years in prison; and Charles Gooden, aka “Charlie Hustle,” 26, of Marysville, who was sentenced to nine years in prison. Aimee Lee Cox, 39, of Marysville, was sentenced earlier to 18 months in prison and a three-year term of supervised release for a lesser charge of maintaining a drug-involved premises.

This case was the product of a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Yuba-Sutter Narcotic Enforcement Team and Assistant United States Attorney Russell L. Carlberg prosecuted the case.
