FBI Richmond Seeks Information on Brazen Brinks Robbery
Adam S. Lee, Special Agent in Charge of the Richmond Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating an individual responsible for robbing a Brinks armored truck and assaulting one of its guards on July 3, 2015.
On July 3, 2015, a Brinks armored truck with two guards arrived at the Wells Fargo located at 4489 South Laburnum Avenue in Henrico County to deposit money into the ATM. While attempting to unlock the ATM, one of the guards was assaulted with a taser by an unknown black male. While the guard was incapacitated, the robber grabbed the Brink’s bag and fled the scene on foot across Audubon Drive. During the escape, some money was dropped, at which time the robber retrieved it and ran into the wood line near the entrance to the Audubon Village Apartments.
The subject is described as a black male, 5’6” to 5’10” tall, of average build and wearing tan khaki pants, a light blue button-down dress shirt, a navy blue blazer, a tan Fedora-type hat, and Ralph Lauren Polo Shoes.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the subject of this investigation.
