Recreation Association Holds Art Contest for Virginia High School Students

FBI Richmond August 26, 2011
  • Media Coordinator/COS Dennette Rybiski (804) 261-1044

April 2012 will mark the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Richmond Division’s 75th anniversary. To celebrate this occasion and engage the youth in our communities, the Division’s Recreation Association is hosting an art contest open to high school students in Virginia.

Artwork should mention the 75th anniversary and demonstrate the beauty, history and diversity of the entire Richmond Division territory. The Richmond Division has investigative jurisdiction over 82 of the 95 counties located in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has resident agencies located in Bristol, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Winchester. More information on the FBI and the Richmond Division can be located at Richmond.FBI.gov on the internet.

The winning high school student will be invited to visit the FBI Richmond Division office closest to them and be awarded $100. In addition, a framed version of the original artwork will be presented to the Richmond Division, with the winner’s name on the plaque.

This contest is being held by the Recreation Association, not the FBI Richmond Division or the FBI. Questions and requests for further information, including a complete set of rules for this contest, should be sent via email to FBIRA.RH@ic.fbi.gov. All entries must be received by September 23, 2011. The winner will be announced in October.
