“Grandad Bandit” Calmly Continues Capers
Now Suspected in 26 Robberies in Multiple States

The Richmond Division of the FBI along with the Henrico County Police Department, Henrico, the City of Richmond Police Department, Richmond, and the City of Roanoke Police Department, Roanoke, request the public’s assistance in identifying the person dubbed the “Grandad Bandit,” who is a suspect in a series of bank robberies spanning multiple states.

Believed to have begun December 2008, an unidentified white male has committed a series of multi-state bank robberies that result in law enforcement agencies asking for the public’s assistance. The subject is calm, quietly presents demand notes to the tellers, and exits the bank in a manner as to not bring undue attention to himself or disrupt normal business activity.

The Grandad Bandit is described as follows:

Race/Gender: White male
Age: between 45-60 years of age
Build: Stocky
Height: 6’-6’3”
Hair: Balding with short grayish hair on the sides
Misc.: Wears wire-rimmed glasses, polo-type shirts, and ball caps; clean shaven

America’s Most Wanted featured the Grandad Bandit on their website in November 2009 and outdoor digital billboard companies have featured this person in multiple states.
