Richmond Community Outreach

Richmond, like each of the FBI’s local field offices, has a community outreach program that complements and strengthens our many efforts to protect you, your businesses, and your families in concrete ways through a range of activities and initiatives. It works specifically to help reduce crime, violence, terrorism, and civil rights violations through community-based partnerships, collaborative efforts, and special events. The program also provides educational and networking opportunities for community leaders and students.

SAC Adam Lee presented Tom Bowers, Commonwealth Attorney for Salem, Virginia with the 2015 Director’s Community Leadership Award. Commonwealth Attorney Bowers has worked tirelessly to organize a Heroin Prevention Initiative in the Roanoke, Virginia area to bring groups of prevention, treatment, and education professionals together with law enforcement in Southwest Virginia to address the growing epidemic of heroin. The initiative is designed to bring awareness to the public of the staggering statistics related to prescription drug and heroin use among youth while simultaneously focusing on measures to help alleviate the damage to the community. Mr. Bowers and other award recipients from across the country will formally be recognized by Director James B. Comey at a ceremony at FBI Headquarters.

We participate in other outreach initiatives and partnerships as well. Visit the below links for more information.
