Edward W. Reinhold Named Special Agent in Charge of Knoxville Division

Director James B. Comey has named Edward W. Reinhold special agent in charge of the FBI’s Knoxville Division. Mr. Reinhold most recently served as a section chief for the National Name Check Program in the Records Management Division at FBI Headquarters (FBIHQ).

Mr. Reinhold began his career as a special agent with the FBI in 1987. He was first assigned to the Las Cruces resident agency of the Albuquerque Division, where he worked violations within the FBI’s jurisdiction.

In 1997, he was promoted to a supervisory special agent at FBIHQ in the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division, where he was responsible for training law enforcement entities throughout the world in the various CJIS systems and programs. In 2000, he was selected as the supervisory senior resident agent in Augusta, Georgia, where he supervised investigations within the FBI’s jurisdiction in Southern Georgia.

Mr. Reinhold was promoted in 2007 to assistant special agent in charge of the Omaha Division. In this role, he oversaw criminal, cyber, and administrative matters until 2012 when he returned to FBIHQ.

Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Reinhold served six years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer.
