Faron Kalama’s Remains Recovered
FBI Portland October 05, 2012 |
On Friday morning, the Warm Springs Police Department (WSPD) and the FBI located and recovered the body of Faron Kalama. Kalama was reported missing earlier this week. Her body was recovered in a remote area of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. An autopsy will be scheduled with the medical examiner’s office and results may not be available until early next week.
In addition, the WSPD arrested two women, Tana Lawrence and Angeledith Kalama, on charges of assault and battery, kidnapping, and sexual assault related to Faron Kalama’s disappearance. Both women are tribal members, and they are currently housed in the tribal detention facility. The women may face federal charges in the future.
Investigators have no indication that Kalama’s disappearance is connected to the death of Jonas Andrew Miller, whose body was found on the Reservation earlier this week. The WSPD and FBI are continuing the Miller homicide investigation, and there is no new information to release on that investigation at this time.
