FBI, Salem Police Search for Bank Robber

The FBI and the Salem Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a masked man wanted in connection with a bank robbery on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. The man walked into the US Bank, located at 3584 Commercial Street SE, at approximately 9 a.m. He approached the teller desk, demanded cash, received an undisclosed amount of money, and left the bank on foot. No weapon was seen.

Witnesses describe the man as:

  • Race: White
  • Age: Mid-20s
  • Height: 5’10”
  • Weight: 165 pounds
  • Hair: Brown
  • Wearing: A dark-colored baseball cap and a cloth pulled up over his face as a mask.
  • Also wearing jeans and a dark-colored jacket with white stripes down the arms.
  • Other: Carrying a black backpack.

There were approximately 10 people in the bank at the time of the robbery, including employees and customers. No one was hurt.
