FBI Portland Hiring Community Outreach Specialist


The FBI’s Portland Division is hiring a community outreach specialist. This person will serve as a representative of the FBI and as a link between the FBI and the people it serves in Oregon, including non-profits, community organizations, other government agencies, schools, businesses, and more.

The community outreach specialist (COS) will be available to speak on and develop outreach programs related to crime prevention matters such as violent crimes, frauds and scams, computer safety, and national security matters. This person will also coordinate and manage the Portland Division’s Citizens Academy and Youth Leadership Academy programs, as well as other strategic outreach initiatives.


Applicants must be U.S. citizens with at least one year of specialized experience and/or higher-level graduate education. (See the usajobs.gov posting, below, for specifics.)

Applicants will be rated on these competencies: liaison skills; analytical thinking; written communication; oral communication; organizing, planning, and prioritizing; and basic computer skills.
