Carnegie Man Charged with Possession of Cocaine

JOHNSTOWN, PA—A resident of Carnegie, Pennsylvania has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on a charge of possession of cocaine, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The one-count indictment named Brian J. Wimbley, 41.
According to the indictment, on January 26, 2012, Wimbley possessed less than 500 grams of cocaine with the intent to distribute it.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr. is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
